"Marissa has been adopted"

We got an email from our coordinator in 'Claire's' country that our dossier made it.

'Marissa' (Claire)'s file was no longer available.

She was either adopted by a family in her country or someone could have gone blind referral.

Josie was in the room when Harry read the email out loud.

She said 'So Claire is not my sister?'

'No baby, I'm sorry, she isn't'

Pause

"But we'll get another one right?'

"yeah, honey, but we don't know what is going on just yet."

"But God knows Mommy, Claire is somebody elses sister, we just need to find ours, God knows where she is."

That was a blessing to hear from my little girl.

Still hurts very, very much.

We don't really want a lot of questions - as we have a lot ourselves and feel very overwhelmed - heartbroken, sad, and we just exhausted - still we do not believe God makes mistakes....

  1. I am so sorry. We have been there; but hold onto that God's ways are bigger. Remember Aiden was given to another family but it work out 3 years later that he was really ours, and if Claire is yours she will come home if not than your child is out there! Your "paper ready" for the perfect referral! Hang in there! Praying

  6. Praying for you now. I don't think there is anything I can say that will matter other than that. Your heart for adoption has been a blessing to me. Your love for the Lord and His plan have been an amazing example. I will pray that God will answer your questions and your prayers and that the wait for both will be a short one.

  10. Dear Kate and Family,
My heart hurts for all of you. Praying for healing during this time of loss and also praying that the Lord will fill you with His tender loving care. His ways are so much higher than ours. It's just hard to wait and see what they are. Sending big hugs.

  11. I know you all are heart broken right now and as I read this post aloud to my husband I went to tears for you. What a sweet daughter you have and what a great job you are doing with her to encourage you in that way!

I will be praying for you. Don't rush into anything and let God lead you. I know you are gonna' feel the need to rush-at least I would (I do know there is another little girl on RR that we are in love with that needs a home...and it would be nice if it was yours...but again...don't rush!)

  19. I'm praying for you! I know it doesn't help much but we went thought he same thing last year. It's heartbreaking to know that you will never hold the child that was so ingrained in your heart while at the same time you are happy they don't have to spend another day in the orphanage. It's so hard to wonder what happened to them...
I'm praying that the Lord will lead you in HIS path and heal your hurting heart!

    Blessings,
    Grace
